Don Hazlitt
American, Born 1948Born in Stockton, California, Don Hazlitt was educated at San Joaquin Delta College, Sonoma State College, and California State University. Hazlitt exhibited at the Whitney Biennial in 1975, and he has had solo exhibitions at the Musée de Toulon in France, the Rosa Esman and Andre Zarre galleries in New York, and Galerie Pierre Huber in Geneva. His work is in the collections of the Butler Art Institute, Yale University Art Gallery, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Hazlitt is professor and chair of the M.F.A. program at Molloy College.
Hazlitt’s work explores the borders between painting, collage, and sculpture; he has painted on shaped surfaces and integrated relief elements into his paintings.
