Shadows (from Panza Group)

Painting: fresco on hard foam
overall: 16 x 16 x 2 inches (40.6 x 40.6 x 5.1 cm.)
Date: N.D.

A study for a series commissioned by the collector Panza, who gave the artist the most difficult task: fresco, portable, with centered abstract image but surrounded by 'sky', and so on. The date is late 1980's. After applying wet sand, Pozzi traced lines in the surface with a needle. When he then applied color all in one breath on the whole surface, the color revealed the grooved design.
