Happy Birthday Herbie
Cheryl Laemmle was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1947. She studied at Humboldt State University in California and later at Washington State University. She has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, and her work is in the collections of The Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. Laemmle’s body of work is comprised of surrealist painting and drawings of figures, animals, and imaginary landscapes. Her work invokes memory and the emotional experiences of childhood.
